It was Labor Day Weekend, 2008. Four friends and I left on a jet plane, flying away from our incredibly busy schedules to a NO AGENDA weekend in Nebraska. Our destination was the McGaha Resort and Spa, suberbly hosted by my favorite sister, Peggy, and her favorite husband, John, who also happens to be my favorite, brother in law.

...was what we felt upon arrival.

In awe
...was what we felt about the place where we stayed.
We loved the front.

We loved the back.

We loved the road that brought us there.

The house with the awesome outside was just as stunning inside the door!

We loved each bedroom, complete with gift bag and guest robe.

But the place was not the highlight of this adventure. What then, was the best thing, the top of the list, the favorite of all?

NO AGENDA!

NO AGENDA WITH FRIENDS!

NO AGENDA WITH SUPERB, SOPHISTICATED HOSTS!

NO AGENDA WITH A POOL!

Synchronized swimming, anyone?

In this group is a hospital chaplain, a hospice chaplain, a ministry assistant, a mental health professional, a campus minister, a hospice volunteer, a college instructor, and two people working on doctorates. SO, what do these astute, serious minded people do during a NO AGENDA weekend?

Laugh!
Play pool!

Sit beside the pool!
Play Wii!

Play yard golf!

Take the Honda for a spin!

Relax with a parafin hand treatment!
Take naps!

Spend time in solitude and silence.
Watch the sunset.

Look at the hills.

Take time to
smell the flowers.

Enjoy special moments.

Rose petals in the pool...aw, you shouldn't have.

Art in honor of Peggy James..........really? Birthday lunch with Peggy of Nebraska......yum!
What a trip! What a weekend! What a time of fun, laughter, and relaxation! What great friends and family! I'm thankful!
What! Time to go? Ok. When's the next trip??
